Andy Klein was born in New York in 1959. His family moved to California in 1969. Raised just north of Los Angeles he went to Taft high school. He attended Pierce college, San Diego State university, and The University for Humanistic Studies where he attained a Master's degree in psychology.

He later spent fifteen years traveling around the world. His journey took him to sixty-six countries where he met many interesting people. He taught English in Japan and Taiwan. Other highlights include trekking up mount Everest, diving in the Great Barrier Reef, and touring many beautiful islands, one of which was Boracay, in the Philippines, where he met his wife.

Andy is very much a family man and enjoys spending time with his three children, the youngest of which became the inspiration for his book series.
